the children are the beneficiaries.
Rev. Winson C. Josiah,
D.Min., LMFT.
Packia B. Josiah, M.A., R.N.
We are from the area in South India, and know
personally where help is needed, and how help
needs to be given. At present, we cover about two
hundred square miles in two districts, where the
underprivileged are given hope. It is possible
only with your help.
You may wonder why the name "Jopa"? "Joppa"
with a double 'P' has biblical significance.
The Apostle Peter stayed in Joppa for some time
with a tanner named Simon (Acts 9:43). In Joppa, a
woman called Tabitha (Dorcas) was brought back to
life. From Joppa, Peter was called to go to
Caesarea to meet with Cornelius and family to
preach the gospel. For us, the name symbolizes a
new beginning. To make it more personal, it
combines the first two letters from our last name:
Josiah and the first two letters of Packia. As
Jopa Ministries, Inc. is based on Judeo-Christian
ethics and is in the business of empowering the
underprivileged, we think it is a very appropriate
name for this ministry.

The following is a quote from
Leo Rosten
"I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be
responsible, to be honorable. to be compassionate. It
is after all to matter, to count, to stand up for
something, to have made some difference"
